Ok, so I'm going to have to apologize for something here, I'm not sure exactly how long it's been since I made a blog post, (and lets not go look at the time stamp to see just how long I've neglected this) but I'm sorry. Winter was long and emotionally draining, but here we are, on the road again.

How Travel Has Made Me a Better Person
Ok, after too long of a break, I'm back, and I'll be (hopefully) posting more consistently from now on. We are back in Florida for the winter, and I took time off blogging to work on a novel, and in that time I have thought a lot about things I want to say on here.
Traveling has made me a better person in so many ways.
The kindness that has been shown to me by strangers has made me more sympathetic and more aware of the needs of others.

The Cost of Vandwelling
When planning to live in a van costs are one of the first questions that come up. It's easy to get caught up in the how. How will I do this? How much will it cost? How will I live? All the how's can get awfully scary as they all pile up together. But once it's all broken down, living in a van isn't as expensive as you fear, and it is more rewarding then you can imagine.

Stories From the Road
A last minute decision whisks us out of Atlanta and lands us in Asheville North Carolina in September. It's the beginning of the colors changing, a prime time for tourists, in a city known for buskers, and we're there to try to offer some tarot readings and earn some money.
The gas gauge keeps catching my eye as we inched closer and closer to the city, working our way through traffic. I tried to push the anxiety of no gas, and no cash out of the back of my mind. It was Asheville after all. Of course we'd earn money busking. Asheville is full of spiritual enlightened people who are more than willing to get tarot readings.
As we get into the city we started noticing something strange. On every common corner for busking there was no one to be found. As we drove around a more crowded downtown than usual we kept looking for other buskers, and kept seeing none. Finally we pulled up to a red light and noticed someone off to the side selling hats, and everything began clicking into place. No buskers, busy downtown, rebel flags everywhere, people yelling, and there on the front of the hat was the word "Trump". We had arrived during a trump rally.

Van Layouts
Our tiny traveling home is perfect. The layout works exactly right for us, everything has a place, and it is very comfortable to move around and live in, but it hasn't always been this way. The layout of our van has changed and changed, and changed again over the past year as we shift things around and learn what really works best for us. Here is some of the evolution of our tiny home.
